Established in 1856 in the Adelaide Plains region of South Australia, the Duffield (and Smith) family have cemented their position in a mixed sheep and cropping enterprise, with the predominant focus on prime lamb production.

The ‘Strathfield’ stud name originates back to the early 1930’s where success was delivered through the ‘Strathfield Para Southdown’ stud brand by Messrs E. & R. C. Smith.

In 2020, Strathfield Rams White Suffolks was founded and is now the central focus of the production system. Our foundation flock bloodlines back date to as early as 1985 in the LAMBPLAN database, just before the initiatives establishment in 1989.

Strathfield Rams holds a strong focus on figures, whilst ensuring we produce sound structured sheep. Emphasis is placed on quality data collection, animal identification and selectivity, backed by implementation of the latest industry science and technological advancements.

 

Combined with short generation intervals, this ensures that genetic progression is maximised.

Strathfield Rams utilize LAMBPLAN, and subjective observation, to produce both quality flock rams to prime lamb producers and exceptional breeding stock to stud breeders.
